Weekly Randoms : Election Week

Bits of randomness from last week.

We watched the craziest sunset. They entire sky, not just the western horizon, was yellow & orange. It was a spectacular sight.

We voted. Mason & I walked to the courthouse down the street bright & early so we could vote. Tyson tried voting on his lunch hour, but had to try again when he got off of work. He was gone for a while. The boys got to stay up late to watch the coverage. & we were pleased with the results.

On Wednesday Mason went to his speech therapy appointment. The speech pathologist doesn't think he needs regular therapy so she is just going to put together a home study kit for us.

I pulled out the few Thanksgiving decorations I have. I made the blocks last year. The other side says Merry Christmas. I'm patiently waiting for the day after so I can get my Christmas decor out. Woohoo holidays!

We got a couple inches of snow last Wednesday. I loved Mason's reaction. "Snow? Snow!"

We also received our first baby gift. It's from Tyson's co-worker.

I love my dogs -- most of the time.

Cheers.

The Time We Visited Utah : Part 2, Saturday & Sunday

Saturday morning we rolled out of bed & got ready to head out. We didn't have either child so it was a bit easier. We had pancakes with my aunt & family then picked Mason up from Grandma's. We stopped by the jeweler to pick up my ring & headed to the cemetery to visit my parents. Sean, Sarah, Ethan, Ralph, & Meghan were meeting us there, too!

After dinner we dropped Presley off with his grandma, I dropped Tyson & Mason off at Mom's, & I went to Starbucks for coffee with my friend, Robin. We've been friends for over 18 years & I love her so much. We were trouble-making kids & now we're both married with growing families. I think we could have sat at that coffee shops for hours, but we had families to get to. It's comforting to know that no matter what we go through or how long we go without talking, we can just pick up where we left off.

I went over to Mom's to hang with the family & say some goodbyes. Mason stayed with Grandma so Tyson & I headed back to my aunt's & we went right to sleep.

We have some good stories.

Sunday morning we packed up our car & went to Mom's so we could pick up the boys. Shellie dropped Pres off & we were nearly on our way. We met my aunt & family on the side of the road so the girls could say bye to Mason & Pres. We headed to South Jordan so we could see my grandparents. Before Sunday I actually hadn't been to their home in YEARS. Kinda sad but I was so happy to walk through their door. Oh, the nostalgia! My grandpa just had knee surgery so we took a few pictures around him. After visiting them we made our way to Tremonton for lunch & to see my friend, Brooke! I wish we could have spent more time together, Brookie Wookie. Love you & thank you for being my friend!!! & thank you for saving us on our drive. ;) The rest of our drive went pretty well. We had to make a few stops for Mason & the pups but we made it to Bozeman by 8. We welcomed ourselves home by ordering dinner from Montana's Rib & Chop House.

The Time We Visited Utah : Part 1, Thursday & Friday

Last Thursday we packed up the Subaru & headed to Utah. Well, it wasn't THAT simple. Thanks to AT&T's terrible timing, we didn't actually hit the road until 12:30. Tyson ordered my iphone 5 at the beginning of October & we waited over three weeks for them to finally ship it to us. They decided to send it out last Tuesday, making the delivery date the day we were supposed to leave. We waited for a few hours & then decided to drive around town in hopes of spotting the UPS truck. & we found it! We flagged the driver down & gave him our address then he handed us our lovely package. Success! So we switched my phone over & finally hit the road. Good grief.

Eight hours & a few stops later, we made it to my Tia Angie's home. Presley's Grandma Shellie was too excited to wait until morning to see him so she drove up to Lehi & picked him up that night. Then Mason, Tyson, & I went right to bed.

Mama, Papa, Presley, Mason, Barkley, & Sota.

Mason inherited my iphone 4.

Presley inherited Tyson's iphone 3G.

Well-behaved road-trippers.

The pretty half of the drive. Island Park, ID.

How we felt about being in Utah.

Friday morning we headed out. First stop was Grandma Becky's so we could drop Mason off for the day. We also decided to stop torturing Mom & finally spill the beans about baby. It was our first time without the kids in months! We started off with lunch at Cafe Rio, then dropped my ring off at the jeweler, shopped at Ikea & checked out H&M. We headed back to my aunt's for some family time. Mom, Tucker, & Mason picked Presley up & headed over to Angie's. Sean, Sarah, Ethan, & Sarah's lovely family were over as well. =) As soon as Sean walked in the door I turned into a major crybaby. Meeting his son was unreal. We spent a few hours with the family, then our boys headed back to their grandma's for another night so Tyson & I went on a dinner date to my favorite, Pizza Factory. After dinner we picked up a Redbox & cuddled in bed.

No kids!
