museum of the rockies.

we spent last saturday & sunday at the museum of the rockies. it's a lovely museum with several exhibits & admission covers 2 days at the museum! the nice part is that it's in bozeman, so i'm thinking we'll get a season pass next year. & i'd move into the tinsley house if they'd let me.

okay. three posts in one day is plenty for me. mason will be waking up from his nap soon, & presley will be returning from school shortly. the wind is blowing & a storm is rolling in. i need to secure our outdoor belongings so they don't blow away (we do live in one of the windiest cities in the country, after all).

fairy lake.

we visited fairy lake a few weeks ago. it was, like always, an adventure. i'm usually in charge of planning our day trips, but i didn't realize how far we'd have to drive this time around. i knew the trail was near bozeman so i figured it'd be about 20-30 minutes to get to the trail...nope. try 3 times that. we drove up the bridger bowl canyon for about 20 miles, then turned on an unpaved, very bumpy road. it was only 2 miles from there, but that drive alone took about 30 minutes. it was rough. when we FINALLY made it, we parked & started heading up (what we thought was) the trail. but it wasn't. we were about to start hiking sacajawea peak. a 5 mile, strenuous hike. we realized it was the wrong hike about 20 minutes into it. woof.

on the sacajawea peak trailhead. yikes.

so, we turned around & found the fairy lake trail. much better. we hiked down to the lake & started to play.

view from the top of the trail.

ready to play.

cutest boyfriend around.

spectacular, wouldn't you agree?

water dogs.

water baby. ocean, river, lake, pool...doesn't matter. he loves it.

they are living the life.

throwing sticks for sota.

sometimes i think my heart will explode. i love them.

they adore each other.

butterfly.

after hanging in the same spot for a few minutes we decided to continue exploring. the trail went all the way around the lake, but we didn't make it too far. tyson found a rope swing so we spent the rest of our day there.

kid at heart. the sign of a great papa.

lovely trail.

the daredevil.

we just watched.

if you look closely, you'll see that barkley is in the air. thanks, tyson. ;)

i'm kind of proud of my timing with this shot. see presley's feet? you can see them entering the water.

thinking about it. the water was cold.

yep. there he goes.

& mason was getting a kick out of papa jumping in.

& there goes presley.

fairy lake. i love it.

handsome water pup.

she's a little derpy & scraggly.

more of my good timing. oh, sota.

around 6pm we realized we needed to head home. it was dinner time.
