winter decided to revisit last week so we spent most of our time indoors. boo. we played with legos, watched movies, cuddled with our growing chickens, & made a fort in the kitchen.
i finally washed all of baby's clothing (mmm baby detergent).
the boys each got a new pair of shoes. you could tell they felt like a million bucks after. it was pretty darn cute. we also got new camping headlamps that they like to wear around the house (for ghost hunting).
our library had family night last thursday. the kids get to show up in pajamas & a museum of the rockies employee does crafts & storytime with them.
saturday we spent a few hours at museum of the rockies. they had a cool new rainforest exhibit & it was our first time there since they remodeled the planetarium.
sunday was the twelfth anniversary of my dad's death. we took a drive in his honor just like he did with sean & i when we were kids.
also, three more weeks until baby!

On a more positive note.
Here's a recap of our weekend.
I pulled Mason around the house in a laundry basket. I was trying to show him that he could pull his stuffed toys around but when I put them in the basket he lost interest.
On Friday Presley decided to show some support for Papa & the wonderful company he works for by wearing a PFL hat to school. I took Mason to story time at the library, then we had a picnic in the backseat of the car, & did some grocery shopping.
Friday night we went to the school carnival. It was so much fun for all of us & one of the many reasons we love this town. Tyson would squeeze my hand & smile as we watched the boys play games or get their faces painted. & he'd tell me that our town doesn't feel real, it's too perfect. After the carnival we had dinner at the mexican restaurant downtown, then headed home to watch our favorite cartoons before the boys went to bed.
On Saturday we did what we usually do: spent money in Bozeman. We checked out the new habitat for humanity restore that opened up, stopped by target for the usual nonsense, & found a weed trimmer at home depot.
On Sunday the boys helped in the kitchen by making brownies & tortillas. I told them they need to learn so they can make dinner when the baby arrives.

Maybe it's because it's Monday, maybe it's because it's Tyson's late week at work, maybe it's because I'm nearly nine months pregnant & was up all night with heartburn & an overactive fetus. Whatever the reason, I have not been a very good mom today (even though I know Mason & Presley disagree).
I've sat next to Mason on the couch all damn day while he watches cartoons. When we picked Presley up from school I let Mason fall asleep even though I know it's going to throw off our schedule for the rest of the day. While he was napping I let Presley get away with only doing half of his homework before sending him to a friend's house for the afternoon.
They've both told me they love me a million times today, but I know it's because I'm being a half-assed, lazy parent that is letting them get away with everything & that's their way of buttering me up. I'd much rather hear it once a day & know that I've been a proper parent. Good thing I get to try being better tomorrow.
